bank. Another option is Viamericas.com,
an online service which lets you transfer money through the
Internet to Latin American countries.

Union
There are hundreds of Western Union offices around the country. You
can either go to a branch to send the money or charge by phone for a
higher cost. The money will be sent to the Western Union office nearest
the recipient.

Orders
You can also purchase money orders from Western Union or from major
supermarkets, convenience stores, your bank, check cashing services
and other stores displaying the Western Union sign. A money order can
be used to pay bills or purchase goods or services. If you are late
with a phone payment or bounced a check, for example, the phone company
may ask for cash or a money order to cover the amount owing.
Banks
Charge
to wire any amount is normally between $30 and $40. The wire should
arrive the same day if sent before 3 p.m. If you are not a customer
of the bank, it may not let you wire money. Call to inquire.
In order
to wire money, you may need the following:
- your
driver' license or passport
- your
bank card, if you are wiring from a bank
- the
routing number of the destination bank
- the
destination bank's "swiftcode", if they have one
